XML Support for Legacy Systems
With the rapid growth of eProcurement systems, on-line catalogues and marketplaces, XML is fast becoming the standard for e-business. Many business software systems now offer in-built support for XML orders and invoices. However, e-business only works where both parties to a transaction can support it.
Using the latest technologies, V1 Document Management can turn spooled textual output from legacy systems without standard XML functionality, into XML documents which can be transmitted electronically or which can be attached to emails.
Government, in particular, is promoting the use of XML by dictating XML-based formats for various B2G submissions, including VAT and Intrastat returns, PAYE returns, export declarations, etc.

Inbound XML documents can be converted to legacy text formats such as CSV or flat ASCII files for processing by legacy systems without XML support. This technology doesn't just convert XML into HTML (which is easy); it can convert XML into HP PCL output (which prints with pinpoint precision on a laser printer).

The problem with many standards is, which version of the 'standard' to use. Many different 'vocabularies' or 'schema' have arisen in different vertical markets.
